Many of these are songs I listened to on repeat while visiting, and some are songs I listened to tons during the first month or two of living here. These songs feel like The Magic to me. Got so emo making this playlist ugh, I love New York. Also added the new Addison Rae song Like for example, "Disparate Youth" is a good plane landing in NY song. "I Need Blood" came out around the weekend I moved here, and Tyler texted it to me; it was on repeat the rest of the year. My friend Bernard played "Small Skeletal" on a rooftop while we were grilling, and it became my angsty NY song. ENJOY :)
Because I made a Chicago playlist, I thought I’d also shine a spotlight on some emerging talent coming out of New York as well who have a really cool & unique sound. Check them out & let me know what you think.
I actually made a Spotify playlist of all the music I listened to throughout autumn of this year. It mostly consists of 80s new wave and rock-pop I have discovered, recent releases i loved, east coast rap, and other favorites that nicely tie in together on the playlist.
When the bar or venue or whatever is underground and you have to descend into the place because you can say some shit like “We are entering the seedy underbelly of this wicked city” “You know,” *cig drag* “crime is only a left-handed form of human endeavor.”
And then your friends can be like “Viv, you can’t smoke inside Dude also where the fuck did you find a pipe and a fedora What are you even saying” Giving you the opportunity to respond with a
“Beat it toots, you’re too pretty for these streets anyhow”
Then you remember your friend already offered to pay for the Uber XL home and you have like 11 bucks so you drop the bit but the sentiment is still there below the surface
