I've been watching and rewatching it on repeat, it makes me cry but also brings a sense of comfort and joy, tove jansson was truly ahead of her time with the humour and depiction of humanity and the fact of life that we are truly all we have, we are all we have for each other no god or other higher power but us and our kindness for each other.

Tove Jansson – Drawn & Quarterly

I absolutely love this illustrator/writer/artist and all of her work. The Moomins are such wonderful, caring little critters that just make you feel a little better inside and out. Great for kids and adult alike and beautifully rendered work beloved internationally. I recommend getting the Moomins comic books online from Drawn and Quarterly and you can find full episodes of the 70s animated series on youtube. There is also stop motion animated series but it is no longer on youtube and I'm not sure where to find it. I also highly recommend her novel, "The Summer Book" Tove Jansson is really just an incredible artist with a unique voice who put genuine care and play and love into everything she made <3
