This movie is home to me, more than any house I lived in or any particular set of memories. I was about 6 years old when I first saw it, and already enjoyed writing little stories and stapling the pages together, but Jo March was the first person/character I’d ever seen who was a “real” writer and seeing her felt like making sense of my life (yes I was v dramatic lol). I’ve watched it probably at least once a year since then, relating more strongly to different sisters or characters in different phases of my life and always struck with something new from it each time.

it was my introduction to the original story and i was writing about how it came at the perfect time in my life just earlier. i’m constantly thinking about certain scenes or certain lines from it. i saw myself in jo march in every way and before watching it i had never felt so impacted by a movie and especially by one i saw at the cinema (i rarely go there). i then made this movie part of my whole personality so much that it’s my username everywhere except for here & all my friends associate me with it and always buy me little women related items <3

bc it’s what I originally wanted when I first went to college at 17 but I was scared to make writing my job and got a B.S. in Nutrition instead lol Now the goal is an eventual PhD in Victorian Literature but I’m just happy to have made it through this part at 32! Stacked is everything I read in my English courses—barely pictured are the 5 stuffed accordion folders of other reading materials under my chair haha
