People seem to take pleasure in their own moral superiority a lot of the time. Not to mention no one ever takes a firm stance. They call out a singer, but not an athlete for their favourite team. I understand where it's coming from, but it also becomes increasingly wishy washy while also being puritanical.
Ive thought about the moral dilemma of this for a while and the only realistic conclusion I can come up with for myself is just to not listen to new works from the bands and artists that have allegations come out against them, and just stick to the stuff I liked before I knew about their dirty laundry
True that. i listen to a lot of pop punk and old rock bands, so if I took out every band out of my playlists that has done something shitty, I would literally have nothing to listen to. A lot of really shitty people make really good songs Unfortunately
Björk, Kurt Vonnegut, Stanisław Szukalski, David Lynch, HR Giger, Harmony Korine, The Residents & Frank Zappa, Věra Chytilová to name a few more off the top of my head; ones that inspired me to work meaningfully at least.
The first two lines of the chorus:
'You can never be strong,
You can only be free'
Sums up everything great about Robert Pollard's songwriting. Drama, hope and disappointment.
Same as anyone else. I think the 'male loneliness epidemic' is nearly 100% self inflicted. However, most men don't know how to find meaning, hence why they get into stupid shit for a sense of purpose.
