Explores the relationship between a pair of twins and how they handle grief, betrayal, and and rebuilding their lives both individually and together. It switches both between points of view and points in time, and it is so beautifully written that it’s still one of my favorite books nearly 10 years after I first read it.

a beautiful book exploring love, loss, grief, and other deeply personal experiences through the colour blue. I recently reread this book and fell in love with it again. It felt like I was reading a completely different book compared to when I read it a few years ago. I think that’s due to my growth as a person and the experiences I’ve had between the last read and when I read it now. I imagine that if I were to pick it up again 10 years from now, it would feel different again. It grows with you. It’s hard not to get teary eyed. “trying not to think about you, about my having lost you. but how can it be? how can it be? was I too blue for you. was I too blue.”

at 1st the only sunny books i could think of were Klara and the Sun (sad), Dry (traumatising) and The God of Small Things (sad & traumatic but sooo beautiful - these r all great books but this 1 is leagues ahead) i started typing this hoping i would have some cheerier recs by the time i got to this point but i think that’s it.. that’s all i have in me…… it seems i simply associate the sun with soul-crushing devastation

I just finished reading “I will greet the sun again” by Khashayar J. Khabushani. Such a beautiful layered book about a young queer iranian boy growing up in LA with his family In the 90’s/00’s. Some of the reviews say it’s devastating and beautiful. It really is. I left it with knots in my stomach and a real want for freedom. What are some of your recommendations?

I got him at a particularly difficult point in my life and I’ve had him for 6.5 years now wow!!! He’s always been big, just much larger dimensions than a normal cat as well as being a little chubby lol. He’s a sweetie pie and is finally coming around to his little sister 💛
