i am just such a SLOW reader. i find myself having to re-read the same sentences multiple times because i don't feel like i'm fully absorbing what i'm reading. and then when i close the book i practically forget everything i just read. i feel like reading would be so much less daunting if i could get through books quicker. is this just a symptom of adolescent + adulthood internet addiction/short-form content fragmenting my brain?!!?!
hey jeyello, i’d recommend starting with easy, fast reads. page turners like mysteries work best for me for getting back into it. it’s a muscle, the more you read the more you get into the habit of reading, no matter what book it is. once u get into the habit of it again u can move on to harder and ”smarter” books. hope this helps :)
I like to have one book to make me think and one for fun. At the moment I’m reading the Fall by Albert Camus and Pageboy by Elliot Page. Both are insightful but when I get tired of first person pov and need more academia I can swap!
