Honestly getting Libby on my phone was what got me back into reading. I love love physical books and going to the library but when I was super busy and already walking around the city with all my stuff I'd need that day I didn't have the bandwidth for physical books. But a couple pages on my phone seemed much more doable. It's helped me discover so many books I probably wouldn't have picked up physically. All reading is good reading. But support your libraries!!
This is real af! Im trying to balance my desire to read more with the reality that I can’t carry a million books around the city a day. I also change my bags around a lot so I always misplace them!
First you need a library card which is also something I highly recommend. Libby is my favorite recommendation and I will talk about it whenever I get the chance. Because it’s also free.
You can read magazines which will give you something to do on your phone instead of doomscrolling. You can listen to audiobooks too and they have literally everything. You can look at an eBook of a cookbook and get a recipe.
i think people don’t utilize their local libraries enough when they’re such wonderful resources!

Why am I buying books? I finish 1 out of every 4 I start. Libraries exist. (And they usually have an app now that lets you rent audiobooks or ebooks for free)
It's so lawless. You’ll see the weirdest things and no one will care. People are so unabashedly human here. Dead expressions, exhaustion, boredom. You’ll get a coffee, someone else will get a bloody mary, the time is irrelevant. Your priorities will be tested, everything costs at least three times as much as it should, it won’t matter. I love liminal spaces.
