Def can depend on where you’re staying, but these are kinda all over the place things I’d say are good Art Institute is def one of the top galleries in the world. If you’re an art person it’s a 100 you wanna do it. If you want a deeper cut art museum-Wrightwood 659(even people who live here don’t rep it enough.) People talk about the hot dogs(Devil Dawgs is the one I usually have), but the Polish Sausage at Jim’s Original is very much its own distinct vibe. Fancyish vibes - Monteverde(Italian hard to get rez for but good) Kumiko(it’s in the top 25 bars in the world for a reason but also not fussy) Day 2 Day vibes - Delilah’s, Goose Island(you said beer it’s at least local), Ming Hin(Chinatown locale), Charleston(gotta get at least one corner/residential bar in)

nothing touches my soul deeper than the sound of music. all of the women in my family have cherished the movie forever, and i grew up listening to the music. everytime i hear that opening song, i cry and am flooded with pure and unadulterated joy. i’m convinced my nana is in fact maria, making it that much sweeter for me. a perfect film that makes me believe that musicals are the closest thing we have to magic.

okay okay i have many recs depending on what u want to watch next. thriller/short series: mindhunter on netflix. INSANEEEE, perfectly shot and well acted. real interviews and lines from those interviews were used in this show, and it’s just an utterly fascinating look into the FBI and the term ā€œserial killerā€ in the 70s. growing up/comedy: GIRLS. look, i know lena dunham is a controversial figure, but she managed to create something that perfect encapsulates what it’s like to be going through your 20’s. sad, hysterical, and real. just insane: the rehearsal. if you haven’t yet acquainted yourself with the world of nathan fielder: please do so. it will change your life. cringe comedy on a whole other level, and this recent season of the rehearsal is possibly the best season of television i have ever seen. light/mystery/drama: big little lies. a classic, layered with drama, scandals, and surprisingly good writing, cinematography, and plot twists.
