I bought 10 of these over the last few years - breathable enough to wear on hot days and soft enough for sensitive sensory folks (like me). Expensive, but they have frequent sales.
If you like the prep adjacent clothes in those movies you should be able to find some JH Collectibles stuff that you like for decent prices since its not a designer brand. I have this corduroy jacket from JH Collectibles that is amazing quality materials wise and fit wise.
