to be honest, i felt a little uncomfortable while reading it, but i also think about it a lot now and i actually really enjoyed it! the journey that tsukuru tazaki goes on and the differences between his life and the lives of his friends is so interesting to me. uncovering that mystery as he goes & figuring out just what happened for them to have left him??? i couldn’t put it down!!
i think it’s not for everyone though. a lot of murakami’s works are like that to be honest, and like i said it made me go “eugh…” a little too… but if someone asks me for one of my favorite books i think i’ll continue to tell them it’s this, just because of how much the story’s stuck with me!!
my favorite book
existential.
its a little slow in the beginning but stick with it, it gets wild.
leaves a lot to think about
can be depressing if u internalize it too much
such a good book. really made me think about the way i engage with food and the way i exist in the world and reevaluate those things. if you go into it wanting a horror novel you'll probably be disappointed, and it is on the slower side, but (like the food in the book) if you take the time to savor and enjoy it it's a really powerful experience
An amazing book-- i'm not sure if it's fiction or not but it's full of some of the most amazing prose i've read in my life. i encourage u to check it out, it changed the way i look at life :)
sooo basically !!! had 2 go into town 4 an errand… picked this morning cus i have a free period first :3 except it takes an hour just to take the train back to school so now im gonna be super lateeee (╥﹏╥)
