Rock rock, Rockaway beach. Great ferry ride from various parts of the city - grungy hipster vibes and excellent food. Plus I saw a pod of dolphins today π¬π¬π¬
A few years back my friend Sara had a birthday party on Rockaway beach and asked that everyone meet at the Wall Street ferry to take the last boat out beach. This was my first time on the ferry ever and one of the main things I recommend to friends visiting nyc. Sit upper deck listen to your favorite song and ride out during sunset itβs magical.
the ride home from rockaway is almost as great as rockaway itself. for best results have a modelo on the top level (the best seats are the ones in the very back on top of the life vests) and time the ride for around sunset. bringing a bike on them is nice n easy too. the best move is front-loading all the riding, chill on the beach for a few hours, and then take the ferry home (your legs are probably tired)
