Being on ur phone past your bedtime

Oh that 5 year old me, sneaking books under her covers with a blues clues flashlight that turned off every five minutes automatically with an audible “doh duh dog duh doh duh dohhh… DUH DOH!”, could see me now: feeling violent amounts of shame for being on my phone at 3 in the morning. YOU ARE USING YOUR FREEDOM AS PER THE MISSION!!! She would say, and I try to agree. I hope she’s proud of me even when I can’t find the way to be. I know I feel that way about her. Looking over people’s shoulders to read their phone on public transport

I often think of myself as an alien sent to observe human life. One of the ways I like to do this is by sneaking a lil look at what other people are looking at on their phones when I’m on the tube or the bus, to see what they’re texting, listening to, or reading (they’re usually on Whatsapp). It’s just a nice lil reminder that this is a whole city teeming with life and individual stories that are surrounding us at all times. I don’t see it as an invasion of privacy cause I usually just go “huh!” and immediately forget about it. Except that one time I saw a guy’s phone password was 000000. I think about him all the time.

Not looking at your phone in a public space

Subway, Waiting Room, Etc. You’ll realize everyone else is looking at one and that that is kinda depressing and that you are superior to everyone in that space for resisting your temptations

Im not sure about the internet, but i’m sure more people are feeling this

I was just thinking of this recently, of how oversaturated the internet feels. There’s too many platforms, content, and ads being shoved down our throats. I don’t know where the internet is headed but I feel like there is a growing general sentiment of fatigue.We’re also discovering ways to combat this fatigue, like lessening our screentime or simplifying our use of the internet (like this platform.) I would love to see this general sentiment dictate where the internet goes instead of the internet telling us what to consume.

I suddenly thought of this movie because Brazil (the song) started playing. I wouldn’t even know how to begin describing this and anyway it’s better to jump in without knowing too much about it, which is exactly how I watched this.
