It took a while for me to get back into her music, but after listening to Nettles, I decided to listen to Preacher’s Daughter from start to finish and let me tell you. Strangers might be the best song I’ve listened to of all time, Iā€˜m used to pop, and mostly EDM songs but ever since Ethel Cain has pierced my ear drums with her lyricism, production, and life with her music. I sweat there was no turning back. Strangers is truly the culmination of Ethel’s life from start to finish and it really is the best way to close off the album. To those who have not yet listened to Preacher’s Daughter or Ethel Cain in general, please do.

I just finished listening to Ethel cain's new album, and to be honest it was a bit of a let down in my opinion. I thought that the lack of vocals on a lot of songs was disappointing. The "ominous and heavy" atmosphere that she intended to weave throughout this album wasn't coming across as is to me. I found it a bit plain. And the fact that a lot of the tracks are over 10 minutes makes it a bit off putting. I don't think that I'll reach out for this album frequently. Nevertheless, I liked listening to it as it felt like an "experience", but I'm not sure that I'll listen to it like her other songs in her body of work (growing pains <3). I'd love to know what other people think of her new album!

pulldrone ambient is soooo in for 2025!! i didn’t expect this album to emotionally touch me as much as it did, but, especially the last three songs, i find myself coming back to. it feels like the sound of becoming and change somehow, although i don’t know what it’s about. i think a lot of her stuff is quite self-determinable though, so im trying to find as much beauty in this one as possible..

so beyond excited for willoughby tucker, i’ll always love you… i’ve been awaiting this album for a very long time now and i am so excited to see what some of the old demos turn into on the record. ethel cain released ā€œnettlesā€ yesterday, and despite being a little underwhelmed when she first announced it (nettles wasn’t the unreleased track i was most excited for), i bawled my eyes out when i heard it for the first time. i also realized that the album comes out on my boyfriend’s birthday (i will not be normal about this), and for the very first time in our relationship, i will be with him on his birthday. i asked him if he wanted to listen to the record together on a little hike into the german wilderness (and maybe playing in a creek or river) and just enjoying each other and the album in late summerā€˜s natural beauty. he said he would love to!! i can’t wait to be rolling around in sunshine and dirt and kissing and loving my boy to the album :3

A song that hurts the most when you most expect it, Hayden’s latest release embodies what it’s like to lose someone even if they aren’t gone and the production and vocals really something to behold. Take the time to reflect on the lyrics and to explore more on the lore of Ethel.

From start to finish, this movie was a wild ride. I’ve read the entire series of comics after I’ve watched the movie on my ipod touch. It changed the way I looked and felt about the world because why live in a world that’s bland and boring when it could be fun and full of whimsy (lol). From the amount of vfx and action to the song choices (i owe you my life black sheep brie larson edition) this will always be a movie i can call home to.

It’s just something so surreal seeing so many fish swimming in a huge tank interacting with one another.
