listen can we all STOP pretending like heirloom means good
here's the thing: heirloom tomatoes can be really fucking hard to grow. while cool and important, they are not the end all, be all.
many offer very, very little disease resistance. modern tomatoes can be bred to be easier to work with for farmers, use less water / need less care for disease, and need less space.
I like them, but can we all stop pretending (from a tomato gardener to everyone else) that they are the absolute best always!!!
