It’s the first song I ever heard flipping on a radio late at night, and my nine-year-old ass got right out of bed and started trying to Stanky Leg. That summer, I watched someone ralph straight downwards from one of those flying roller coasters at Rye Playland while it was bumping on the PA. Playland is closing now, and I packed up my childhood bedroom last weekend, but Young Money still takes me back to glory days of cowboy sheets, funnel cakes and Drake not being famous yet.

It’s crazy how many memories I associate with this album. my Older brother got his license a few days after this album dropped and the rest of the year it was the soundtrack to the wild adventures he took me on. When I’m stressed out and I need to focus, I throw this on and bruh we movin. and who doesn’t love Many Men like come on.

Just makes me think about being young and having fun. Those summer nights hanging out with the older kids that had cars and the radio was actually good. Showing my age with this one but this song was THEE SONG when I was a youngin. You can’t tell me this song don’t remind you of your first lil crush.

i used to sing this song as a single digit aged child and i had no idea what i was singing, only that it was so much fun to scream the chorus and that it made my dad cry with laughter as he was dropping me off to school in the mornings

Great grandpa was a newsboy who marked suspect vans for the Irish republicans, then a tailor who fought for them. When he broke great grandma out of the laundry and stowed away to NY, his trained hands could find work only behind the wheel of a city bus. He found a new peace with his family, sewing my grandma’s pockets shut to make her walk with confidence, but he sent a portion of his paycheck back to the army until the day he died.
This isn’t his, and I don’t think he’d approve of it. Still, I feel close to him every time I mend a new pinhole.
