HAVING YOUR AUTOCAPS OFF FOR OVER 10 YEARS

it was NOT a phase for me. and i am a person of many phases. i want people to know when i'm being Serious and when i‘m feeling casual. i find capital letters so aggressive. so demanding. my brain is not normal, i know. but why would i capitalize “i” when i rarely, if ever, capitalize things like the “g”in god?? who do i think i am?? letters are but squiggles on a page. grammar is a social construct. i will be 50 typing like this. that being said, to the all caps headings on this site: i could never hate you. you are so important and an exception to my arbitrary personal rules.

the amount of people who have told me “i need to grow up and turn on auto-caps” like bro u r texting me at 2am about what u found in the fridge- the autocaps wouldnt change that

@KAYWEE i did turn it off when i was like 15 though so it WAS a decision i made as a child but like as an adult it really isn’t a marker of my maturity. i make sure to type “properly” for work emails, texting my boss and other formal settings bc im aware of time and place but like regular texting and social media is such low stakes it’s not that serious.

TURNING AUTOCAPS BACK ON

Not the be contrarian. But I’ve found that erratic punctuation has a bit more of a kick to it when you have capital letters. For example ….. these ellipses…. it’s harder to pin down my vibe . I could be a 49 year old woman or a 12 year old with my first iPhone. A businessman or a painter. You’ll never know !

Tried doing the whole lowercase text thing but I just can't. I love love love love love capital letters at the beginning of a sentence too much. It itches my brain so well. Please everyone use it again I miss it I feel like I get pointed at and laughed at for using capital letters. My friend asked me the other day, "Why do you have auto-caps enabled on your laptop?" I don't. I JUST ALWAYS PRESS SHIFT. PLEASE.
