a bunch of awesome books and is so fun to do! it’s so exciting when you can correctly identify a plant youve never seen before in one of your books while on the trail! i also have books on toxic/poisonous flora which i also like to play the above game with (this applies to funghi too!!!)
This is a good one! You can also find other informational books that aren’t just foraging ones, I have some for predicting weather based on cloud patterns or bird/bug books. It’ll also be something to help you get outside time!
Recently I have started exploring my local woods and parks for herbs and leaves to use for teas and cooking. Today I found Three Cornered Leek and some wild garlic growing right next to it ! I love running around with my little plant identifier app and becoming more and more able to identify all the edible ( and terribly not edible) plants growing around me each day. I pop on my little foraging playlist that makes me feel like a wizard and I skip home with my baggie full of leaves:) This is the wild garlic I found today
I have a mental map of where the rosemary bushes are and I love to take a walk with a plastic bag to grab a little and walk back home like rapunzel eating from the forbidden garden
we don’t make jewellery like we used to!! where did the whimsy go!! the uniqueness!! the daintiness!! the literal ethereal feeling that this watch brings!!!! I CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHEREEEEEE
