this was one of my first ever purchases with my own money from urban outfitters!! they were the comfiest shoes ever, i wore them on every trip i had ever been on! i wore them so much the tread was completely gone and unfortunately had to ditch them :/ but they got me through about 6 years of constant wear and travel! an honorable mention includes my thrifted converse with zippers on the side, i DESTROYED them.

miiiight be a little bit basic?? but they just go with everything and are (imo) so comfortable. also have had the same pair for 5 years now and they are still in such great condition somehow

i’ve had my current pair for two years (i think?) and at this point they’re completely trashed. for the first year i wore them almost every day, and it shows. quite literally busting at the seams. the pic doesn’t even show the full extent of the damage. when i bend my foot, the fabric rips. there are knots in the laces that cannot be undone. the soles are so worn down that i can feel every little pebble on the ground as i walk. terrible arch support, but i don’t care. i love my converse :)

nothing touches my soul deeper than the sound of music. all of the women in my family have cherished the movie forever, and i grew up listening to the music. everytime i hear that opening song, i cry and am flooded with pure and unadulterated joy. i’m convinced my nana is in fact maria, making it that much sweeter for me. a perfect film that makes me believe that musicals are the closest thing we have to magic.
