such a fun studio ghibli movie
the animation style is so different to the usual ones (based on what ive seen so far) and so is the plot of it cause it kinda doesn’t have a set plot but I LOVED IT it was so cute and such a fun watch that i enjoyed a lotttt

and it’s not even close.
this family comedy was so special to me during my childhood— I remember so many of the shenanigans in such vivid detail. the drama is hilarious when you’re a kid and probably even more hilarious when you’re an adult. one of my fav scenes is the mom telling everyone about the snow outside but no one is even paying attention bc of this thing they’re watching on tv— ik my description is not making it sound all that funny but it just reminded me so much of my family dynamics.
anyway idt I’ve ever heard ANYONE recommend this movie outside of the family who showed it to me, but it’s probably my favorite ghibli film after spirited away. would love to know if anyone else enjoyed this movie!!
(okay whisper of the heart is pretty good though)

warm and intimate vignettes that build so well on each other, characters are simple but immediately familiar. unique pared down animation style for ghibli, hits u in the soul by the end

i wear a face covering (the niqab) and whenever i'm inside with my girls and i can take it off i love making a big deal out of it and being like face reveal and my friends also jump on the bandwagon and act so shocked I LOVE IT
