Acne Studios Net Sneakers

I’ve been wearing these as kind of summer sneakers — they’re tan (color not linked, couldn’t find them for sale anywhere) and low key, which means they go with most of what I own, and they’re super lightweight and comfortable. The uppers almost entirely made of a netting, which means wearing them feels only vaguely different from wearing sandals. The breathability is insane and ideal for the summer.

MONOGRAMMED BALLET FLATS

I wear mine, uh, literally everyday. Summer, winter; galas! When one pair gets too dirty and too worn-thin I buy another of the exact same pair. Pale pink base. Turquoise lettering. Cherry-red shadows. String tied in double knotted bows so they never come undone. It’s big Gossip Girl 2010’s energy and that is an energy that I am all about. Life was good! Natalie and I were still friends! I wasn’t addicted to Adderall yet! I literally had no idea that one of my best friends would sell me out for $5,000 to The Cut, take credit for my entire brand, and try to make it seem like I was never an addict at all! Buy these shoes!

friendships based around rituals

I love basing my friendships around things I like to do, and having an allocated person to do that with, also having a process / routine that this thing happens around. Like a tiny religious procession of two. E.g. : one friend is my coffee and a walk friend, another is a person I only exclusively hang out with to eat tacos once a month, a third friend to only go to cinema screenings with, another friend will join me for exercise classes and we usually get dinner afterwards. I like this approach to friendship in general because it’s less pressure to have to come up with new things to do, and if you stagger time well then you always have things to do and people to see.
