for me when i really wanted to adjust to getting up early i made sure to do a zero effort task when getting up. for me it was gaming for half-an-hour before actually doing anything, for you it can be anything you want. psychologically it’s so much easier to be like “i get to get up and be silly” instead of “i have to get up to start the day”

@MOTHERSUPERIOR putting aside my feelings about tiktok in general i would say no bc it’s a pretty passive activity + being able to do it in bed means it isn’t actually an effective motivator for you to physically get up

i love being up early even when i don’t have morning plans. i can take my time enjoying breakfast, playing my little games, journaling, and stretching all without a rush. easing into the day and reveling in the quiet, gentle morning hours is a blessing! time feels more spacious!

They’ll get you up and out, especially if you can schedule morning activities. also, if you have friends who work or are morning people, text them when you wake up and maybe they can help you stay accountable and get going. Or if people in your house get up for work, get up with them and have coffee or breakfast together. Socializing might be the best way to wake up your brain. The simplest change that helped me the most was going to bed and waking up at the same times every day. And then no naps. Make the bed when you get up so it isn’t so tempting during the day. If you want to challenge yourself, look for a job or volunteering opportunities.

Hear me out: as someone who works from home, I spent many months waking up, walking to the couch, and opening my laptop. By noon, I felt sluggish, lethargic. Starting my day with an action (ie unloading the dishwasher) helped me to feel more motivated and grounded!
