Another one of Maddie's favs!! Caroline Polachek is one of my fav singers of all time! Her voice is ethereal and sounds just as good live 😍 Her album Pang is a masterpiece, but this song specifically... hit me where it hurts..🤪
Pre-pandemic I would drive to my friend's house for band practice (we played two shows ever ... went nowhere, plus she turned out to be terrible friend) it was like a 40ish min drive, and Pang and I became besties <3 Right when covid hit the news and everything was uncertain, I was already doing online school so I didn't have to worry. I feel like it was lowkey fake school i'd be done with everything before 12 so then i'd do fuck all for the rest of the day. One day I went and got burger and smoked so much weed (pandemic gave me weed addiction :/) I listened to Hit Me Where It Hurts the entire day like woahhhh this is actually one of the greatest songs everrrr 😄 It's my favorite Caroline song and I think its underarted :) But yup that's it!

i love this album so much, it's eerie in the most ethereal way, sparse yet full. visually makes me think of the woods and feels like gathering your bearings in the middle of the night.
the pang tour was also the last live show i went to before the pandemic broke out in 2020. sold out at heaven, caroline performed songs from this record effortlessly, with soaring vocals and yodels that surpassed their recorded counterparts.
Luckily, the opening track The Gate which is way too short has an extended mix. 10 minutes of pure bliss, with caroline humming over the lushest of synths, ocean sounds and echoey church bells, which could send even a newborn baby to sleep.

Relationships seem to be a big theme on this social media platform ! And I’ve seen a lot of great advice for dating!! On Sunday I met this hella cute girl through my friend’s friend and I was so nervyyyy I didn’t ask for her number or talk one on one much… I talked with my friend’s friend and we exchanged instas (big fan of getting people instagrams then never seeing eachother ever again but follow forever) and i happened to find cute girls insta… i am going to message her today and shoot my shot 🫣 #nerveracking I’ve only been in one relationship — started at 16, lasted for 5yrs, ended a year ago — so I’ve been single for a year and first time making a move with anyone let along pretty girl !
