Watch the Aquabats Supershow!! Really camp and fun, side project of a ska band (Aquabats) with one former member being Travis Barker, now drummer for Blink-182. I need to go to an Aquabats concert so bad

travis barker is a cool (although corny and played out these days, well tbh the whole band is), but prior to travis the band had scott raynor on drums, till like 98 or something? Those early yrs had a grittier, immature, honestly more juvenile sound that I find more compelling if i'm looking to put that sort of music on. more effectively transports me back to a socal 90s youth that I didn't experience - but feel vicariously.

Brooklyn-based band that's blowing up a little bit. Fun, clownish, extremely cool. What I imagine it was like to see the B-52's in person.

This is pretty specific to the extreme metal scene but the youtube channel Slam Worldwide promotes some absolutely amazing bands who range wildly in popularity. This is a pretty cool way that I have found new bands or just generally learned about what was happening in the scene.

I love finding a secondhand book with annotations, it feels so special to see a glimpse into what someone else was thinking while reading. Even if it's surface level notes for like a class or something, it makes me feel connected to the greater whole of humanity.

I don't have any specific ones on the top of my head but when I was looking for inspo for a magazine I was making I stumbled upon the collection of Zines on Internet Archive. They have categories for punk, feminist, art, fanzines, etc and they're fun to look through. They also have a category of unsorted ones that feels like digging through a bin trying to find hidden gems.

But between the two, team Edward. Haven't read the books but that one scene in I think it's Eclipse? Where Jacob basically pulls a "kiss me or I'm gonna kms" where he threatens to run into battle because Bella won't return his affection... yeah, I was already a bit iffy on him at this point but this confirmed it for me. Really though, I watched these with a group of friends as a comedy, so I wasn't really on any "side" per se, I think they're all really dramatic. Bella is at most 18 during the course of the films, Jacob is even younger, and Edward is a really immature 100 year old. Even though she turned to a vampire for Edward I'm convinced IRL they would be divorced at 20.
