Julia Ducournau really making some freak ass little movies! I went into this one blind when it came out and there are scenes that still stick with me, incredible performances, premise, setting, vibe. A really viscerally full movie with lots to um, chew on. Won’t be watching again.

The film that kick started the cannibal pop-culture craze. A perfect horror film. Also shout out to Brand New Cherry Flavour, the unhinged Netflix body horror magical realism show that I never see anyone talk about. It’s mad and I loved it.

Julia Ducournau's follow up to her debut, Raw. I could not handle this movie! It's incredible and also supremely uncomfortable. Fascinated by this French magical realism, but I can't watch it again.

I do not like body horror and did not like this movie. Perhaps the inverse will prove true for you. I had to go bowling after because I needed to move my body to Stop thinking about that one scene. Directed by Julia Ducournau, who also directed Raw.

an older couple came in for dinner and totally stiffed me on the tip which was disappointing but shitty tips and math mistakes happen on occasion, so though I was disapointed because I thought we were vibing, I entered the bad tip and got on with it. they came back as soon as we opened the next day with an envelope with $10 and this note. I love that they went above and beyond even for a small mistake like this, I wouldn’t have remembered in like a week but the universe tracks on this stuff yknow.

Whenever I feel screen-bad and I know I want to do something else I do like a buffer activity to give myself time to decide what the ultimate goal is. Its helpful for me if it’s something that involves water so my phone can’t come with me and I’m really resetting my day, like doing the dishes or taking a shower. Things I like to do once I’ve amped up to it: -Tinker, found some free frames on the street and spent the afternoon painting and fixing them with whatever I had around. -Fancy errands like going to specialty shops (bakery, butcher, wine shop) then dinner becomes the project with whatever you’ve scrounged. -Be a member of something, it will guilt you into going (pool, museum, local movie theater) -just do one thing, there’s so much multi tasking asked of us and our attention, just doing one thing feels great sometimes (just eating, just drinking a hot bev, just listening to an album all the way through, just doing the dishes- I think I love doing the dishes?) I 100% feel where you’re coming from and often struggle in the same way!
