*spoilers for up to ep 18* genuinely have no one to talk about this with but what is love island US on 😭😭 genuinely do not understand the point of having the audience vote for people that the contestants must choose to vote off like…it’s actively making it impossible for people to make connections cause they keep getting split up. charlie anddd hannah are gone (i feel sooo bad for her), and then jeremiah right after he got out of the toxic situation like im so maddddddd episode 18 just pissed me right off like no one’s able to make an actual connection cause their partners just keep getting voted off basically 😭😭 also WHY is huda still there come on yall we cannot be watching the same show and ending up with jeremiah gone and huda still there…im so pressed

I feel like the producers have definitely set this season up more for the drama and views than for the effectiveness of finding a couple which isn’t surprising ig. Also ive noticed a lot of the islanders will vote off the people who have the strongest connection because to them the point of love island is to “explore” and not stay in a connection. I also have a lot of feelings abt love island that I havent been able to express 😂

@QUEEN_B i need to speak to these producers immediately i am NOT happy 😭 i guess i can see where the islanders are coming from but surely they recognise that when they send two separate people in separate couples home they’ll have to be set up with other people that will basically cut off the chances of maintaining their original connection irl 😭 id find it much more respectable if they sent people actually coupled up home so that they could continue outside idk ughhh im so maddd

yeah I definitely agree but also the people in the villa seem to either move on pretty fast (like Hannah after Charlie left lol) or in the past seasons they’ve left with the person if they feel deeply enough about them

Love island USA is all the craze right now and rightfully so! The drama and excitement of it keeps me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next crash out my best friend Dina and I can talk about. As we were watching last night, getting so mad at Jeremiah and pausing every few minutes to stop ourselves from getting worked up, we realized talking about these people on love island who have no relation to us is helping us to stop gossiping about other people. gossiping is a Core part of the human experience and when we let it out on random reality tv stars, we are less inclined to talk about the people we know or vaguely know. You don’t have the energy for that because you spent all your time ranting with your friend about the new drama of the day on love island. messy reality tv is healing

i have been a long-time watcher of this ridiculous show, and LI UK combined with Ru Paul's Drag Race really helped me get through covid times in 2020/21 in general. this summer, i have been watching the USA franchise on the urging of a friend. it's CRAZY and chaotic and entertaining, and for a while nothing seemed to be happening in the UK version in comparison. But i've come to realize the USA version genuinely stresses me out. i'm american, but i hate the way americans act and communicate as a generalized/homogeneous whole. i love the brits and their self-deprecating, cultural-specific gender expectations and slower mode of moving. it's still toxic ofc but i can distance myself from it and tell myself i will not encounter men like this because they have a way different accent (pleasant delusion!).....LI UK, you are my first true reality tv love, and i'm sorry i ever doubted you

unfortunately where i live makes it extremely difficult to go anywhere without a car so i’m stuck at home most of the time and am prone to bedrotting and falling into slumps (for multiple days in a row 😬) but something that never fails to make me even the least bit productive is staying out of my room for as much of the day as possible. the second i‘ve gotten ready for the day i grab what i need then sit in a space with lots of natural light so that it feels easier to get up and do stuff cause i’m already out of my room, and to stay awake/avoid the afternoon naps that usually turn into full day naps 💫 this also helps with keeping my room clean cause when i walk into my room after not seeing it for a while i get a real sense just how messy and cluttered it is 😍
