soooo many good songs on this soundtrack, and several of the musicians make cameos in the film to "perform" diegetically.
in particular, Caroline Polachek’s Starburned and Unkissed is a killer standout track, and it is deployed with absolute precision in the movie itself

I’ve started my deep dive and I’ve discovered that one of the major issues in getting this show to streamers/syndication was actually getting rights to the music used in each episode, played by Chris, the town’s morning DJ (played by John Corbett).
On some DVD/Blu-Ray releases, all the original music was replaced. According to Reddit, the version on Amazon contains some original music, not all. But I linked this website that tells you what the original music was in each scene!
