i'm working on this new concept called "joints bingo". after having hip surgery at 23, i've now had surgery to fix a torn meniscus and acl at 27. on top of that, i'm not sure whether i'll need surgery on my ankle as well, so i might get to the respectable mark of three joints before 30, which would probably get me on some kind of forbes list! anyway, i guess what i'm trying to say is that i highly recommend not fainting with your whole body weight on your leg. you might wreck it. also, if none if this makes any sense or is just plain uninteresting, joke's on you, 'cause i'll just blame it on the anesthesia.

my heart hurt a little bit when I read your post — I twisted my ankle in October 2022 and it still isn't fully recovered I've been to the doctor lots and am in physical therapy rehab because of it MY BIG MISTAKE: Running too soon after hurting it. It was not worth it!!! I gave it a week and then went for a run. As much as possible stay off it and rest until no longer hurting.

while facing an insane heat wave (>40ºC for a few days now) i've found myself thinking about spike lee's do the right thing a lot. it's not a "feel good" type of summer story at all, but i think if you're looking for a film that makes you think "summer" in every frame, this is the one.

i spent about 9 months unemployed during the pandemic (i was 22/23) and while it did take a toll on me, i eventually realised how much time i had to actually take care of my body and mind. i worked out a lot, got in shape and was very happy with how i looked. i also grabbed the savings i had and took a course that eventually got me into the career i wanted in advertising. it's easier to create a routine with all the time you have on your hands. you can find many ways to be productive without realising. i remember i read a lot, watched a lot of movies and shows, played a lot of videogames and still found time to exercise and study. just gotta be careful not to lose motivation. take this chance to reflect on what you would really like to pursue. you're in possession of the most valuable of resources: time. 🙂

it's always splendid to come across something you love so much it makes you experience deep regret for not having looked for it earlier. of course, comedy is subjective, but 30 rock is probably the funniest show i've ever seen. it elevated tina fey to deity status for me (i'm also reading her book, bossypants) and it's totally deserving of being the subject of my first recommendation around here. the comedic pacing is very impressive. it's absurd. it's heartfelt. it's self-aware. and it never feels bumpy. if you haven't watched it, you should. and if you have, you should go again.
