(Andrew Savage of Parquet Courts fame, also a great band to see live)
I saw him with his touring band last November at Bowery Ballroom and it was (one of) the best shows I’ve ever seen. The band could not have been better. Savage’s more tender and atmospheric songs were executed with grace and gravity, his punkier music delivered with all the force it calls for.
If you are unfamiliar, check him out. He is a truly unique lyricist and songwriter, which comes through especially on his two phenomenal solo albums. Yesterday, he released this new song^ “Black Hole, the Stars and You,” and of course, I love it.
