Nothing gets me more motivated than listening to girls slightly older than me talk about things I care about and with intellect and interest. When I started writing somewhat seriously, the first “article” I ever wrote was because of this one podcast. it was called “God’s Forgotten Glut Girls” and it was fabulous and so very much the thoughts of my 18 year old self.
The article was called that, not the podcast. The name of that I will keep to myself, but u can probably guess what it is.

I made a vow to myself in art school to stop listening to artists and start listening to writers because they are WAY better at telling stories/public speaking/giving interviews/talking in general. Rn I'm listening to In Writing with Hattie Crisell and the New Yorker ones like The Writer's Voice. I like In Writing because it's about how they write like literally what their desks look like, what time of day, etc. Demystifies it all a bit

I went to a friend’s birthday party last night who I hadn’t seen in almost 2 years and I was nervous about it until I noticed the amount of septum piercings in the room. Huge difference. This may be a regular thing in nyc or something but I’m in north Florida baby and it was beautiful. I’m about to go to dykes only potluck party tonight too… so I’ll let u know abt that later.

Slow communication is what I think I was born for.
The fact that people used to still be considered good friends but not know everything going on with each other until they maybe ran into them on the street is so beautiful to me.
I think it really allowed for our internal worlds to develop and flourish while making those moments you share with others so much more meaningful. Anyhow I’m doing this with my friend who is moving to Kansas and it makes me so happy, I’m buying cute stationary for us. Maybe even a wax stamp maker.
