Filmed entirely on location in NYC, not only is it a thrilling crime procedural with a witty and buoyant script, the film itself is one of the most enchanting and well-preserved time capsules of New York City and the people in it you’ll ever see. The film-making itself is top tier, I’m actually not sure how they achieved some of the shots they got. 1000/10

One of my all time favs. Every shot… masterpiece. A pro mime would be the one to create such stunning art about finding whimsy and connection in a soulless, confusing, homogenized and gray modern city. He even makes the exaggeratedly drab city look beautiful. It’s funny and fun to look at. Especially if all you want to do is look, the only real character development is a bumbling man bumbling and bumbling until finally the only thing left to do is dance. Banger

Never watched this until now. Very surprised this is not really considered apart of the queer canon. Really sad and beautiful film with incredible editing, soundtrack, dp work, and performances. Seems like the director was a one hit wonder, as this was his only acclaimed film. Highly recommending watching with friends. Really captures how cold and uninviting New York can be, especially if you’re new to it.

I’m here for the summer doing a play at the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. My wish when I first arrived was for time to pass slowly.
For a month now, i find myself able to wake up with the dawn chorus, go for long walks and runs without my AirPods, work out regularly, and sit in the sunshine in silence, soaking up the peace one breath at a time.
I’ve never been healthier, more rested, or had better hair.
I’m already nostalgic for this contract.
