I think I could listen to it on loop for a very long time - this was an incredibly tough choice (so many incredible albums came out in the last decade!) but for me, “Space Song” and “Days of Candy“ are what push this over the threshold into perfect status

I thought so too! But when I was going through my list of albums to answer I found out this came out in August 2015! So it’s just *barely* within the decade timeframe of the question!

sentiment by Claire Rousay album is a dreamy, yet haunting exploration of depression. The first track of the album ‘4pm‘ hot me hard. If you’re inclined towards getting depressed that feeling of bed rotting and failing to see the point of taking your next breath is quite painful to hear but I’m glad someone has said the quiet part allowed. Enjoyed guest vocals from Hand Habit as well. This album is melancholic without sounding self pitying. I enjoyed the hum and atmosphere Rousay has created. Can’t wait to se ever live in a few weeks in London. 8/10

[I’m no music writer- I might not have the vocab to adequately express what I want to say here] It took me way too long to listen to this album. I think it’s perfect. I’ve been an oM fan for a while, but I was always frustrated by the pacing and structure of some of their songs. For example, Lysergic Bliss is a great pop song, imo, then goes into the back section of seemingly unrelated acapella. Impressive on its own, but it‘s a skip every time for me… I could list a handful more where I feel the same way if you disagree with that one. This album is made of self-contained songs filled with the catchy hooks and fun chord structures that make oM great. The melodies and harmonies are beautiful and they remind me of paul mccartney‘s songwriting- especially on Everything Disappears When You Come Around. It’s to-the-point: 35min total with a lot of the tracks in the 1:00-2:30 range. The songwriting is far less abstract than in other releases, which makes it easier to follow. It’s largely a happy album, great to walk around to. Now that the weather is starting to turn I think you should try it out or listen again.

A website with a collection of screengrabs from nearly every movie you could think of, and you can sort by film title, director, cinematographer, year, genre, country, etc. Great for visual references for lookbooks, or just to discover a new film you might be interested in seeing! I've attached one of my favorite stills, a great moment from Chungking Express (Dir. Wong Kar-Wai, 1994).

Just going out and picking up any kind of used physical media (books, CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes) makes the archivist in me happy, like I’m preserving somebody else’s story/ enjoyment of something My personal favorite thing is VHS tapes, I’ve got a decent collection (all thrifted) and they’re usually the cheapest things offered
