Deathray was started after the founder and bassist of CAKE left. It's certainly not cake but there's a bit of similarity. Slaughter Beach, Dog is pretty similar with a less produced, more soft yet punchy sound. Listen to Motorcycle.jpg first, then Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling.

Saw them with Foxing and Home is Where a few ago and label them as very much "My Thing". Shoegaze band with two vocalists with contrasting vocals, hard hitting guitars and elements of other genres like emo, country, slowcore to make something that is similar whats going on elsewhere in music but still unique.

Greet Death is a great band, sho3gaze indie rock. They used to be a 3 piece group, but recently added some more members.
A documentary that was born all because someone once found a 7” single from an unknown Detroit band by the name of Death. Turns out the band of 3 brothers had essentially nailed the sound of punk music years before it had become a thing. As a result of the documentary the band reunited and began touring again, decades after breaking up.
Finally lighting the candle you’ve held onto because it smelled so good that you wanted to keep it forever but then lost it; reunited a few years later. Just to light it in your new apartment.
