they are these collectable little guys a lot of ppl attach to purses and such that have become a huge status symbol seemingly out of the blue. they have also gotten a bad rap since they are 1) lowkey kinda ugly and 2) specifically designed to make u spend money when u def dont need them. like it is a capitalism trap fs especially since the blind box model is kinda leaning towards this "gambling for children" thing which is fucked up. in my brain the response reminds me a lot of the stanley cup craze with ppl going out of their way to get as many varieties as possible and go crazy on release days with phsyical violence at stores and such. also apparently a lot of ppl are freaking out and thinking they are demonic either bc of idk satanism and or the doll's theoretical resemblance to an ancient mesopotamian demon called pazuzu which is a whole other thing i had to google so idk.
anyway here is this one thread post this ask reminded me of.

🔍What the hell is all that,.. if you want to have a cute little guy to put on your bag you can just make one and it won’t cost literally 30 bucks??? They are poisoning your mind by telling you you need a specific little guy for your bag. There are a million little guys that are just as good. Go get a stuffed animal from goodwill and put string on it! they are trying to sell you 21st century beanie babies and saying they have value because they’re collectible - it isn’t true ! Respect yourself!

✨the first I ever heard of Labubu was the whole "propaganda I'm not falling for" trend and for a hot minute I was convinced that some company started the trend as a weird reverse psychology way of advertising their collectables
but really I mean they're just little blind box collectibles. def not the first of their kind. they're cute, just way too overhyped right now. I gotta say, this is one of the more confusing trends I've seen recently though 😭 no clue why this of all things ended up blowing up so much

I feel so bad for young kids nowadays getting dolls cause honestly they all look like junk.
It's so sad to see because dolls have become so diverse but apparently large companies took that as an excuse to create extremely poor quality, unispired clothing.
Monster High and Bratz, two doll lines that are known for their unique styles, all have cheap boring clothes now.
Seriously, the only good outfits come with dolls that are way more expensive whereas when I was 10 I could get a $20 standard Monster High doll with clothes and accessories included with Pinterest levels of intricate designs.
I go to Target now and I see the monster High dolls and I actually have to leave the toy aisle because The outfits are so boring I have to step out to not crash out. I guess my future kids will just have to settle with my G1 Monster High and Bratz babies dolls, missing half their accessories of course.

geniuenly it is so good. they have a random article generator, guess what happened today in history game on the app, and a feature which let's you make lists for all the articles you find :))
good way to learn, get off social media, and cure boredom!
