The scar still talks to me sometimes. I think when something is bone deep it never really heals all the way. I have a few other random bones, including a bump on the back of my head, but this one had to go!! I have gingerly reintegrated leg days but it is still scary honestly.. when my leg would get stuck it was the worst pain I have experienced honestly, but that means in comparison most things aren’t that bad!
@CHLOE_ You should talk to an ortho about it! Nothing else has improved my quality of life as much as getting mine out.. if it isn’t in a bad spot they can even avoid cutting any nerves unlike ACL surgery.. mine didn’t tell me that was a possibility until after the fact lol 😶😶
@CHLOE_ do it!!!!! I wish I did earlier… You won’t be able to walk for a few weeks and won’t walk right for maybe a month but after that you’re free!!!!
mom was using a machete to clear the tall weeds in our yard at our new house in Thailand. i walked up behind her to ask a question and got caught in her backswing. i clutched my elbow and saw a dark red streak go down my arm. it was so deep you could see ligaments and fat tissue. we had to drive 45 mins into town to get stitches and tetanus shot but at least i got out of yard work for the day. lucius is so jealous of this scar lmao i also have a scar on my leg from a lipoma (benign fat tumor) that needed removal in high school. and a huge scar from surgery to repair my broken collarbone from the seatbelt that saved me from dying in a horrible accident in college. i have metal plates and screws holding me together. and a few scars on my hands and wrists from the broken windshield glass.
when i was 17 i was walking on a kind of muddy trail next to a quarry and slipped and fell in. i was mostly fine, just bruised and scraped up, but i got a pretty sick 8-ish inch long scar on the outside of my leg. it’s mostly faded now but when i’m tan you can still kind of see it at the bend of my knee.
here's the story , so basically i was learning to ride a scooter and after practicing in a big empty space, i thought yep i'm a pro now it's easy taffic? highways? it's nothing, BUT the god said nahhh girl you need more practice.
long story short i had a small incident where i didn't just get a scratch on my elbow but also on my knee. The knee one healed, but the massive scatch on my elbow it left a huge very visible scar. so now I HAVE A PERMANENT REMINDER OF MY OVERCONFIDENCE.
My god everything is experienced better this way. Stop looking at guides, walkthroughs, endings explained (my least favorite), even the blurbs on the back. Such a rare opportunity in this time to go into something without knowing anything about it, yet so rewarding. To be pleasantly surprised or blown away, to have no idea what’s happening, to find that you really didn’t like it, an opinion formed on your own.. nothing is more valuable
