god yes so incredibly good. to the person reading this DONT READ BELOW THERE ARE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT
the glitches in the beginning?!? i thought the theater was having issues. then when the incel guy monologues i got actual chills as it was directly citing the elliot rogers manifesto. one of the best films of the 2020s for me and i think about it so often. truly incredible. i constantly think of her making the โdollโ face as well. incredible performance
simply an amazing film, so much that i've seen it at the theatre TWICE and the second time was even better than the first. i'm not seeing enough people talking about it and both screenings i went to were fairly empty (i was one of four or five people at the first screening i went to) so GO SEE IT! and it's not even my favourite film by bertrand bonello which goes to show that he's truly one of the greats in modern cinema.
absolutely enjoyed this movie. one of my friends initially bitched about it not living up to the expectations of its previews, but weeks later informed me that its imagery and concepts had stuck with him and he was formally changing his mind on it. if you havenโt seen it, ignore the naysayers and give it a chance! Itโs an eerie ride that begins with heavy Silence of the Lambs vibes and ends in a completely different universe.
Saw this in a small theater earlier this year and it was unlike anything ever. I had seen it multiple times before, but being in a space with strangers watching this painted fever dream makes it so much better. It was so hard to not quote the entire film.
Everybody meet Tomato! (government name: Chloe) She is a very very shy but sweet little lady who is one year old. I already feel like we're kindred spirits because we both take a while to warm to people. She is currently sitting comfortably with the dust bunnies under my bed.
