FANTASTIC FOUR WAS AWESOME AND ON TOP OF THAT IT WAS RLLY COOL TO SEE THE DIFFERENT DESIGN INFLUENCES IN THE TYPE AND THE MOTION DESIGN AND SOME CINEMATIC SHOTS THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE!!! SO DE STIJL SO INTERNATIONAL SWISS SO BAHAUS SO MID CENTURY SO VISUALLY COHESIVE very chefs kiss, would recommend.
Baffling, bad to look at, and not even a good adaptation of the book it's based on... but I don't care, it still rocks. It's one of those movies where the potential was well within grasp. It could've EASILY been a solid movie, and kicked off a decent franchise. It's tragically funny how bad they fumbled it. (I'd chalk it up to unfortunate timing. I think they JUST missed the YA dystopian fiction movie craze. It was ahead of its timeπ) ..... and, uhm... on second thought, maybe it's not SO bad to look at. Seeing how Timothy Olyphant is in it, and allπ₯΅π³.
Really glad I saw this in the theater because it ruled. Action was great of course, but it's also interesting to think about the different societies that it showed (feminist anarchist commune, fascism, war lordism). Also like Dune it's so fucking metal.
watched the 4k restoration in amsterdam at lab 111, an anatomy-lab-turned-indie-cinema. the movie hits so much harder on a big screen and loud speakers. instant top four!
