But not in the hot way. I love all these cunty bob posts and they suit yall so so so well (esp @LINFO and @SALAD_VALET) but I need to share the other side of the coin: coconut head. I cut off 15 inches of hair at the beginning of the pandemic and absolutely fucked my shit up. If you’re going to do a bob go to a professional, @TATERHOLE said Vidal Sassoon will get your shit right. My husband and I hung out with his friend who I’ve known for years and my husband pulled up this photo (which he somehow always has readily accessible) and his friend said “who’s that?” and couldn’t believe it was me. Shoutout to my man for loving me thru this insane look and shoutout to the girlies out there pulling off the bobs this summer. Honestly though it’s good to have a completely unflattering haircut once in a while, it builds character.
I did the same thing on accident last summer and i have been regretting it for over a year hahaha i only wore my hair in french braids that ended at the top of my neck for 3 months
i feel like it’s a rite of passage for girls.. i had a bob like this in the 4th grade AND they gave me bangs for the first time which revealed a horrible cowlick right in the front so the bangs always “split“ lopsided!
@MARXINISTA I still have bangs but as a child I did not understand every banged beauty on TV had a hairstylist meticulously touching them up between takes. Wind is the enemy of everyone w bangs but they don’t show you that on TV!!
Omg omg we have all had a haircut that didn’t work and figured out how to grow with it. I arrived to PI.FYI with my blonde bob after a year of growing out a pixie and doing a strange mullet for a bit. Obsessed with this post!!
How validating that the friend didn't recognise you tho omg I’d be on a high, I did this to myself at the beginning of lockdown and when it was time to go back to school i was told by a friend I looked like a pumpkin so I felt this post to my core
@CHOC_ORANGE lmao it absolutely felt good to know I no longer resemble a coconut as I’m sure you no longer resemble a pumpkin!! which is at least one cute of the cutest vegetables
ugh I have so been there!!!!! bad haircuts unfortunately are a right of passage in my book. I’ve learned so much from my past bad haircuts. I had one a few years ago that I called my “penis haircut” because it literally made my hair look like the tip of a penis….idk how that was possible but it happened. Thank you for the honorable mention in this post ❤️
Noooo LOL 😭 my version of this happened the week before eighth grade at Supercuts I brought in a picture of Keira Knightley and left sobbing with Justin Bieber hair and got called sir and made fun of by so many people. Bad hair really does build character and bonus points if it’s something you did to yourself
@TATERHOLE lmaoooo not “sir“ thats so brutal 🥲 chain hair salons owe insecure middle schoolers compensation for letting us bring in celebrity photos as references!!! mine was anne hathaway in the devil wears prada at a hair cuttersand they also fucked me up so bad in 8th grade. Nevertheless we persisted 🙂↕️
@TATERHOLE that’s so funny because you wouldn’t think they should be able to even fuck up that hairstyle that badly but they find a way. truly they committed such atrocities against us… but yes we made it through and I did eventually get the real Keira cut and NOW my hair stylist can make anything happen for me!!!
@TATERHOLE I am so so happy for you!! I’ve loved your hair in all the face posts I’ve seen of you, what’s the inspo??Keira’s had so many good haircuts I’m curious which you chose as a reference
@TATERHOLE thank youuu this was the one I wanted in middle school https://images.app.goo.gl/MvdB2 and I eventually got this one by happenstance from a customer I met at an old job who was a stylist https://images.app.goo.gl/3N4L5 but my most recent haircut was actually just something he made up where he called it a blunt step haircut but it was a modified hime cut basically LOL it was so sick (positive). I will usually just let him do whatever he comes up with because he is a genius and an artist but sometimes I’ll give him ideas like we did a modified version of this the time before that https://images.app.goo.gl/EfPjiKys5FPMn7B96 we’re going short in a couple of weeks but I have noooo idea what he has in mind yet lol I’m excited to see his ideas he’ll come in with full on vision boards and swatches
@TATERHOLE Oh i LOVE a hime cut, i don’t understand most of the other descriptors but it sounds so cute! lmaooo the first pic wow I can see how bieber that could get, you’re truly gods strongest soldier for getting thru that one, so glad your hair is now in the hands of a master 🙏 so excited to see your next short cut, please share when you get it done!!!
@TATERHOLE yeah honestly with that haircut it was my fault LOL like of course it would turn out like that. I absolutely will my appointment is the Saturday after next and I am counting down the days!!!
whether someone does it for you or you do it yourself, it signifies a reset. and quite literal regrowth. Everyone knows you are infinitely hotter in the days following a haircut. You are humble enough to seek change, strong enough to endure it, confident enough to adopt it and make it your own. I did that shit today. I have a haircut that makes me so hot and fucking unstoppable. This is pure zealot mania pushed to its fullest potential. you ever been in love? Stop and think about that for a sec. If yes I’m so happy for you., if not, have you ever gotten a haircut? very fucking similar. either way, get a haircut, read a few dril tweets, prepare to fuck and be fucked bc you just sliced those dead ends off and now there is nothing that stands between you and your dreams
This was me totally. I went from actually waist length hair to right at my shoulders and then to a bob within months. I've cycled through all kinds of hair styles since then. Wolf cuts, layered bobs, pixie cuts, the only thing I haven't done is buzzed my hair. I loved my long hair and being so used to having it made it really jarring when it was gone for sure. But short hair suits my style and features so so much better. So I have not gone back. I miss the feeling of having long hair but I don't miss the look most the time. Or the maintenance. And I do really love my short hair I think it's really cute and it's so fun to wash and to style. It helps me lean more into an androgynous vibe when I want which is nice sometimes. There are tons of ways to style it! You can get specific with your hair type and length on Pinterest and get a ton of ideas. Also Jenny Cha (whom I've linked) has a series styling her buzz cut growing out and she has a ton of ideas in that series.
