Don't be ashamed of unabashedly loving something. Even if people think you're strange, if you love it, love it with all your heart. I'm currently taking down a lot of my LEGO sets from an era where that was really all I could think about. I still love them with all my heart, but I feel it's time to move on a little bit.
I remember for the longest time I used to feel really embarrassed that - as an adult - I spent so much time, money, and brainpower on something most would write off as a kids toy. I've learned to embrace it now, and to love every new hyper-fixation as they show up.

Love getting obsessed. Life is so boring when I don't have a hyper-fixation to rot my brain.

It no longer rules your life, lingers in the back of every thought, controls your free and occupied time, makes you feel like an utter pervert in the extent to which you seek out interviews and any online presence, nor sends you into an existential frenzy as to whether you have a crush on or want to be this person. You’re free! And now that you’re not wholly consumed with some talented stranger you can go back to enjoying the work the way you did right before it turned into a full blown obsession but now there’s a warm fondness from the time and intensity you’ve given to this thing you now know you love, the love that now makes this thing (album, movie, book, artwork, etc) a part of you and loving it is almost like loving yourself—hearing the song in public is like hearing the sound of the soft animal of your body (subdued to a whisper) and that’s all it is! something tender, something remembered, an embrace of something deeper, but not as destabilizing as it once was.

being in a new hyperfixation phase is so fun and exciting. it's also painful because the interest is so intense that i almost don't know what to do with it, and a part of me dreads the moment the obsession will inevitably start to fade...

Aw man the breeze is so nice, the sound of kids playing and adults chatting is a nice ambiance, and wow, it's so pretty out. How come no one ever told me how relaxing it was to have your window open?
