The slower pace of this film makes you really *feel* just how empty, soulless, and joyless the world the characters occupy is. You really get the sense there’s nothing for them there, that they *belong* in the Pink Opaque, because despite there being challenges there, they are so much more alive there. And feeling how drawn out it all is sells the core message of the film - there is still time. It is never too late to go after the life you want.
@SMILING God yeah the ending of the film *hurt* when I first watched it. It felt like Owen was so close to happiness, and it slipped away into a dreadfully dull 20 years. Especially since I could see myself in his overly apologetic nature, and apologizing for *being in pain* - ow ow ow it hurts just thinking about it
@LADY-SUNRISE the bit with owen on the porch with the new tv was genuinely the most scared, sick-to-my-stomach a film has ever made me feel. could've been me. bristling at the thought even now!!
cried from joy at the end. the film captures so much beauty in the mundane/simple and reminds me that it is safe to take my time and soak life in. next time is next time, now is now.
absolutely changed my outlook on life. from the masterfully crafted soundtrack to the striking colors and classic pixar animation, this movie hits so hard and leaves me sobbing and realizing how beautiful the privilege to live is. START LIVING YOUR LIFE TODAY
listen, i know gallo is controversial and that this movie has an infamous scene... but the slowness of this film and it's soundtrack really tap into a deep loneliness and a feeling of being lost. i personally love the pacing and sort of aimlessness of it's long takes. roger ebert however, did not.
I love this game so much!!! It’s so full of heart and humor and fun characters and engaging gameplay and…there’s so much. It’s such an unassuming package at first glance but there’s a lot packed in. Especially now that we’re officially halfway through the story, now’s the perfect time to jump in if you haven’t yet
The vibes are truly so immaculate. Get comfy and get absorbed in the music and the art. Likely also works with other creative pursuits, drawing is just my go-to
