All hail Dolly. I think this song could work as the end credits to Brokeback Mountain, it’s so pretty and feels like reaching for something/someone that can’t/won’t reach back
by chet atkins and dolly parton the way they talk to each other through the song while they play and sing is so comforting and when dolly says "i love you" at the end its so light and lovely you can feel how much fun they had playing together
I have someone in mind as I listen to this, but it‘ll never happen. My unrequited love. So I will just feel feelings through music. You would think in your 40s you will be done with these feelings, but it is pervasive for some of us. Allo darlin’ - dreaming
will you go out with me tonight
lose it on a disco floor
take the night bus with me tonight
frost on the window
it's freezing out here on the pavement
but here in your arms
it's heaven
i can wait for you now
but not forever
i have tried everything i know
to make you understand
this is not a game for broken hearts
played by a lonely band
we've both got so much to lose
but here in your arms
it's heaven
i can wait for you now
but not forever
i was surprised by how happy i was
don't ask why it's just because
down by the harbour in the dawn
it's not a star it's a satellite
the thought of it keeps me from sleeping
or am i already dreaming?
A song to compliment the quiet. To me, this is the perfect stargazing song, it brings me back to different times of looking up with many special people. It feels especially anchored to my summer at the lake after graduating high school.
That thing is too small, plain and simple. Grandmas around the world are on to something, and we have too much hubris to listen. Make your desktop cursor as big as it gets. You never have to shake your mouse to find it anymore, it's always right where you need it to be. Efficiency goes through the roof, and you feel undeniably more powerful responding to unfortunate emails.
