I was always thinking about how much I wanted to leave this Irish town growing up, but have begun seeing this place so differently ever since my international friends spoke about visiting. I started looking for interesting parts of it they might like, and turns out there are a lot. It’s really something to be proud of

Been home for a week and it has been a beautiful experience. I won’t ever move back but to see and appreciate my hometown has been eye opening. Just go back, even if it’s just a one time thing and you never return, you’ll find something beautiful about the place that raised you.

I wasn’t born here, but I was raised here & I used to resent that about my upbringing. I didn’t understand why I had to be raised away from my culture in a place that only made me feel alien but now that I’m older I’m finally beginning to appreciate it.
I was raised here but I’m seeing this city in a way that I never have before. It’s so serene & quaint. I love how many local coffee shops we have & how rich we are in grass & trees. I love that my identity makes me unique, & it’s refreshing to meet other people like me in this southern, suburban city. It’s lovely here.

idk why but there’s something cool about sharing the little stories or taking them to your favourite bars and restaurant.

"Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change our Minds, Shape Our Futures" by Merlin Sheldrake, and "The Secret Life of Fungi" by Aliya Whiteley. I need to share these books. Zombie Fungus? Mind blowing. You're also telling me the intelligence of slime mould was used to optimise transportation networks, specifically the greater Tokyo area's railway system? Unreal. Nature goes crazy
(the picture is of a zombie fungus bursting out of a fly by Roberto García Roa)

I’d always see this kitty hanging around the neighbourhood, she would even come into my garden every now and then but seemed shy. Recently, she had become bold enough to say hello. Luckily I had some leftover hake from the dinner my sister had made that evening. It made for a good bargaining chip in gaining the cat’s friendship. She’s now called Sasha, and she has become well acquainted with my lap. Made my week.
