I donāt overthink when i journal, however the only thing i make sure to do is to never leave an empty page, which means i write from top to bottom nonstop. just write and write, however, prompts and sketches ideas could definitely be found on Tiktok or even better the subreddit /Journaling.
I see a lot of people trying to make it more complex for themselves with things like journal prompts, only to end up doubting themselves on what they're writing, forgetting the initial purpose which is, displaying thoughts, leaving empty journals along the way.
every day, carve out 30 minutes to completely fill three journal pages as fast as possible. the point is to simply write anything, everything, without worrying if itās good or bad⦠then, never look at it again š¤
at least, not for a whileābut this encourages you to get comfortable with writing for the sake or writing, unbothered with the outcome
My journal is very chaotic and has a lot of collages, sticker dumps, poems and quotes I like, along with more structured diary entries, but one of my favourite things to do in it is what I call free journaling. Iām sure this is not a new concept, I just havenāt looked into it at all. All you do is write anything and everything that comes to your mind even if that is āI donāt know what to write right now. Iām really bored.ā Itāll start with that but as you write you start to tune in more to the things around you and how your body feels, and you might start describing what the room looks like, or what you did that day to lead you to this point, or some strange idea for a project, or how the pen feels in your hand.
I had a professor once say to start writing by just starting and making a word vomit page, then open a new document and completely rewrite it. I have taken that advice into my journaling and just done this word-vomit free journaling, then taken some keys ideas/ phrases and used them elsewhere, but also, you donāt have to ever look at it ever again. It gives you the chance to really let go, and let your brain warm up.
I canāt find the Creator and i am mad about it because i wanna credit the one who made sure to put this for free.
Iāve found this website RetroPrint where they show the details of how you can make a Windows 95 customised theme on your phone (with over 800 icons app to choose from 27 of them are already made for the modern apps like netflix twitter etc - some graphics for the widgets too And 3 sounds.)
The fact that i can stay in bed warm with my phone or laptop and music in the background as i watch my favourite movies/series/youtube vids with a warm tea is simple enough to make me grateful for wherever i am today.
Worrying about what I should wear to work is a beautiful thing because itās a privilege that sadly some people canāt afford :(
Complaining about to cook is a beautiful thing because someone somewhere sadly canāt even afford/have access to a simple bread piece.
Literally feeling the warmth of the sun while standing waiting for the bus is a beautiful thing to cherish and be grateful for.
If there is one style that literally calms me is stippling.
The endless dots, the slow process, the nuance effect, the final results.
I just love it and appreciate it even more when i spend hours/days to finish one.
