amazing conversation starter (so many people have asked me about it) impressive (even if you're bad at it) something to do with your hands in public (or during conversation) challenging in a cool way (beginner methods are super intuitive and solving a cube for the first time makes you feel like a genius)
it’s kind of like a video game in that each next part takes a lot of tries and patience bcus it’s a completely new task or challenge ur facing, and u have to restart probably a lot, but after so many times u will know how to •beat• the first levels/steps so well and, perhaps, have a deeper understanding of /why/ certain moves work. and u can apply that skill in the next parts! i looked up & nearly memorized an alg like last year and had always regretted not trying from scratch and like playing around with my cube on my own first til i made progress. but now i’ve forgot certain steps or tricks to it so i’ve been trying to supplement my solving using trial and error and some mathematical imagination. i really recommend this process
I feel smarter as I solve it without cheating. I never had one as a kid and I Feel like I am making up for lost time. I Can spend hours playing with the Rubik’s cube without any external stimuli (music, tv, friends, conversation, etc.) just the cube and vibes.
i did this in high school. conquer your pride and just look up the solution, anyone can do it if you practice for a few days. dont worry about going fast! its just fun to move the pieces around and bring order to chaos. learn how to make cool little patterns, like this one
Turn those lights off bro. light some candles or turn on fun little fairy lights. It’s nice when u can’t really see much so you just have to feel your way around. relaxing & helps me get ready for bed
