I’m curious everyone’s thoughts on this movie. I’m very half and half about it. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would - but it also wasn’t my favorite film. Film heads , lock in and tell me what you think
It's well done. It's shocking. It's darkly funny. It's not that deep. I won't watch it again. Keep funding Ari's fucking projects. He's making Unique things that edify the art form.
@LUCIUS THIS! it was very shocking and even though I was not in love with it - I was enthralled the entire time. Agreed to keep funding Ari’s projects forever.
didn’t get it on the first watch but upon rewatch it absolutely blew me away. you may hate it if you didn’t fw beau but id say give it a shot anyway! definitely one of the movies most worth your time & money to have come out this year.
Saw it last night and wow!! Ari Aster continues to entertain me (though I am easily entertained). If you're into modern-day westerns, dark comedies, satires and/or Joaquin Phoenix, this is well worth the watch.
I watched it after hearing it recommended from a review of the 50 shades of grey movie. I thought it was going to be significantly more interesting but ended up also kinda disappointed. I liked the performances but the movie didn't feel like it really had the bite that I thought it would have. I did find this video essay which had some pretty interesting thoughts on the movie but I don't think I'm going to rewatch it anytime soon. It's like a 6/10 for me.
