i love looking into someone’s fridge and seeing batteries where the butter is. reasonable, eccentric and elderly. I’ve been without my bluetooth speaker for some time now so I’ve been exclusively using my battery powered cd player while I do busywork. my 3 cds in (now months) rotation are Ivy’s apartment life, The Prodigy’s fat of the land, and Depeche Mode’s ultra. i’m also currently looking for a few battery powered sconces so i can have light in various places but with no wires.

i would go through on and off periods of having a phone, and to survive high school i started burning cds. it was so special to come across them recently because i immediately went back in time. i don’t think Placebo is as poignant to me now as they were but music is so goddamn powerful in the way it seems to document moments in our lives. My cd player miraculously still works but most of the stickers have fallen off . I wanna start burning em again. The ritual of toiling away at the computer for hours to get the perfect songs in the perfect order is unbelievably fulfilling :) thx for the post im inspired to reignite the fire under my old obsession

I´ve been buying used CDs and vinyl, along with a second-hand CD player, figuring out what music I truly enjoy on repeat, without it being pushed on me. I still use Spotify, but mostly outside the house or in another room. Some evenings, I disconnect completely: no phone, just a book, a movie on TV, and my CDs playing. Feels like the year 2000. I took this picture from a local Cd store in my city.

Lately I’ve been really into hearing audio books from my favorite author, but despite that I have also been putting the record player I got gifted on Christmas to good use. I got two vinyls, Heavy Glory by Elias Rønnenfelt and a cigarettes after sex vinyl with a bunch of their most famous songs. And otherwise it’s just my liked songs playlist on Spotify being played up and down hehe. Honorable mention: I’m also re-listening to everything the Band ICEAGE released and I am yet again obsessed.

I swear by these capsules. They’re intense—you take 3 every 3 hours when you’re not feeling tip top. I always have them in my apartment and definitely when I’m on tour. I love to dole them out to my friends like a pharmacist. They will keep you healthy

I cannot live without my routine of scrolling through Curb clips/memes/full episodes. Larry David’s orbit is so deeply comforting to me. They love and tolerate him even when he’s horrible. It’s kind of how I felt about Garfield the comic when I was a kid. I love to witness a curmudgeon in their safe space to be curmudgeonly. I feel that way with my friends.

I’ve since relapsed —but as a compulsive nail biter my entire life, I got my first manicure this past winter and for the first time in my life my nails looked presentable. the clear polish is nice like a worry stone for me, satisfying the same urge that biting did—it’s a nice thing to do for yourself every 3 weeks or so I’ve discovered.
