I watch a lot of anime and a new one I like is āMashle: Magic and Musclesā. Gist is overpowered, the stoic protagonist who canāt use magic goes to Hogwarts. Probably wonāt be a classic like āRanking of Kingsā or āVinland Sagaā but just a good time and one people who donāt watch much anime can enjoy too.
So the difference between yuri on ice and attack on titan is pretty vast, so I'll give some reqs and also why I'm req'ing them: Mob Psycho 100 [genre: weird]: don't get put off by the artstyle, the animation is fantastic and the characters are very very likeable. Go in blind! You won't regret it. Has little to no fanservice. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann [genre: mecha]: Ever wondered what was up with big robots? This anime has big robots. They get so big you won't even believe it. The animation is incredibly..bouncy. Fanservice/unnecessary nudity-level medium. Kill La Kill [genre: magical girl? nudity?]: if you liked Gurren Lagann but wants more magical girls and less clothes. This one is incredibly weird in ways only anime can be. Fanservice-level extremely high but it makes a weird amount of sense within the story, I just...yeah. I have warned you. One Punch Man [genre: superhero/shonen]: The first season is a very funny take on the superhero genre and supremely entertaining. I skipped the following seasons, you do what you want! :D Fanservice low! The Apothecary Diaries [genre: mystery/romance]: A mystery / romance set in the court of the chinese emperor's concubines. Honestly it's mostly a medical mystery show and I thought it was very well crafted! The main character is excellent. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood [genre: adventure/shonen]: This is a longer show but it's about two brothers who know alchemy and their..alchemical adventures. It's just really good!
I have A LOT of animes to recommend but if you are looking for something like that Iād go for Sakura Cardcaptor (itās from years ago but one of my favorites) cause itās cute and has magic involved etcccc and you can try Fruits Basket too! Iād like to recommend Horimiya too cause itās a super cute series (but no magic involved). Itās high school love themed! š« AND for movies please please watch Your name or Suzume!!! šāāļø
Iāve seen a lot of anime, but Fairy Tail is one of the best in my opinion. Itās a longer anime (~325 episodes) which may deter some people, but it is truly worth the watch. Based in a fantasy world imbedded with magic, the story's main focus is a small group from a wizard guild called Fairy Tail. The adventures they go on always include epic fight scenes, amazing music, and incredible character development. Within the main cast and the supporting characters there is a wide variety of powers and motivations. Itās funny, captivating, intense, and emotional in all the right amounts. It is also one of the few shÅnen animes I have seen where the female characters are given the same level of power and influence as their male counterparts. If you are looking for a fantasy and adventure filled anime that you can spend time getting invested in, Fairy Tail is the perfect choice. š«
Most musicians have terrible home stereos. They generally put all their resources toward studio gear which makes practical sense. 5-6 years back I made the unpractical choice to invest in my home system. After a lot of trial and error, I landed on components by this company in upstate NY called EM/IA. Itās pricey but I got lucky and found a used pair of their 50 amps and then got one of their passive pre amps (elmaformer). I listen to more music now than ever and thatās the best review I can give.
One of my favorite records of last year and one I find myself coming back to often is Jeff Parkerās āMondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy.ā Recorded by my friend Bryce Gonzalez live at ETA in Los Angeles. The Sonics of the record and the chemistry of the band are top-notch.
