Cansei De Ser Sexy. Their song “Music is my Hot, Hot Sex” is iconic, and I remember hearing it in an iPod commercial. Everything about CSS is so fun and playful, from the lyrics to their live performances.
I was at a party and this song came on, and it’s the best. Cansei de Ser Sexy (named after a Beyonce quote that she “got tired of being sexy”) were a Brazilian group you were either a fan of or at least heard played in Zune commercials. I completely missed a reunion tour last year and that is a bummer! I always thought the Death From Above they were talking about were DFA but on closer inspection of the music video, it is indeed, Death From Above 1979 they are listening to while making love.
I want music to be sexy, I love sexy music. I love sex in music. I want music to have sex in it. I like it when people show skin, I like it with sexy men and women with microphones. I like hot lyrics about fucking on the beat and metaphors, puns or whatever where the beat is the sex and you can fuck to the bass. Dancing and bodies grinding together all that. Hot people, Sexy Music, none of that ironic shit.
