this goes hard - one of my fave 70s sinister sci-fi films. james cann plays a jock/reality tv star that seems to have it all but something’s not right... there’s no wars or countries, there’s a global government and the number one source of entertainment is rollerball - brutal roller derby meets gladiator vibe. if you feel like corporations are sucking the life out of everything yet are inconceivably involved in your daily life - this film takes that to an extreme zone. the set design and wardrobe is also killer
there is an underlying theme in this year for movies. people are losing their minds, obsessing over the wrong things, and distorting reality… - UHF
