The trailers made it look so steampunk so I was afraid but it was actually so amazing. It's second best to me after Catching Fire. But I also watched so many bad reviews of it afterwards that I'm second guessing my perception and judgement
try not to put much stock in it but i was shocked to see the tomatometer on this one. heartless goons who cannot appreciate a movie designed to be as much fun for the audience as possible. almost everything i saw people criticize (hartnett's performance mainly) makes complete sense when you consider it through that lens. also the lady raven songs are genuine bangers and i say that as someone who thinks most movies fuck up fake diegetic songs completely
It looks soooo good. I am actually annoyed at how much the trailer shows (can studios make trailers like half this long please!) so would rec not watching the whole thing.
Essentially responsible for killing the YA dystopian genre. The third movie is specially bad to look at, but this one is my favorite and I could watch over and over again.
