For the Californians I can offer https://calscape.org/. If you just look up "[location] native plant society" that should lead you in the right direction. I just love learning about the land I'm on and having a neat list of plants adapted to and thriving in the area, maybe you do too.

Ivy is invasive to my area and it's EVERYWHERE! It can be difficult and expensive to remove but it's a good thing to do and can even be a matter of safety. Sometimes ivy will basically choke a tree to death, which'll then potentially become a hazard to buildings and people nearby. I can't recommend a reliable website to find your local invasive species right now, because the gov websites are dropping like flies. Sorry ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ’” That said, if you can, make some time to research your local area's invasive species, native and keystone species! It's really rewarding to learn about and act on! It makes you feel more grounded, doing a good thing with a tangible result. Especially with your hands and plants!

This is some highkey nerd shit that I honestly donโ€™t talk about much ๐Ÿ™ˆ But getting into botany has changed my life and this summer especially Iโ€˜ve seen some really incredible plants/habitats. I visited an โ€œextreme rich fenโ€ ecosystem here in CO last month that is home to 14 rare plant species - and I got to see most of them! ๐Ÿฅฒ Pictured below is Primula egaliksensis which only grows in two places in the contiguous U.S. Anyways highly rec wandering around outside in remote, beautiful places to look for plants. It has given me a whole other level of awareness and appreciation for the land I call home ๐Ÿ’ž

feel more knowledgeable about your surroundings in this easy step! I learnt this one here and now I spot it all the time and get to make people touch it and smell their hands (peanut butter, surprisingly!)

This isn't really a daily journaling app BUT the formatting is all really simple. A to do list is very simple to set up, you can make a board with each little block with a to do list assigned a day and can take and put on to dos as you like. I like it bc it's simple, intuitive, it's cute (I love beveled edges...) and I like the color options, I like the ease of making separate boards so some boards can just be dumping spaces or brainstorming or collections. I think there are templates you can just use. Hope this helps :) ! I pair it with bullet journaling (i recommend to ignore the super artistic way ppl tend to do it... it's meant to be simple!.. but if being artsy appeals ofc u can if it doesn't get in the way of doing it every day)

I hold a grudge against this one because it was maybe twice that I affirmed that I was talking to someone and they meant "talking". This became a thing all of a sudden when I was in college and I got the memo very late. Hate it hate it hate it, it feels so glib and detached and too cool.

Get obsessive and pop quiz sing it to yourself doing the dishes. Rewind, sing, rewind, section chunking, lyric websites. You think it's easy to have so many karaoke songs ready at the drop of a hat and not be thrown off by the laggy lyric highlighting? To do the background vocals and the exact cadence and hum the instrumental breaks if you need to? No, it's WORK, it's TIME that can be spent doing something else but you choose to do this. And also it's fun. This is a sneak rec of The Chase by Tinashe from her 2021 album 333. Listened to it 40 times today. I have become one with the track.
